Saltwell Towers ~part 2~April 17

Part 1 HERE

Thought I”d best finish this off before starting on the Poland report 🙂 .

The main attraction for Sophie and I was the cherry blossom walk through the grounds

but also there was an abundance of pretty flowers, the name of which has escaped me yet again!

and bluebells

we saw a squirrel too,

and more (insert name here 🙂 )

and white bells

more blossoms

rhododendrons I think

and these are definitely tulips

and I’ll finish up with the drunk tree 🙂

Next time we’re off to Poland

stay tooned 🙂

Day 50~366. A rant!

So I went for my walk this morning, into the woodlands over the road from my house. As we’d had 2 sunny days I wasn’t expecting

day50

I had my walking boots on so ploughed on over the swamp, and increasingly had to dodge dog poo, what is wrong with these dog people?? Not only do some of them not poopascoop their mess, the ones that do bag it up then tie the bags up and fling them up into the tree branches or bushes, or just on the ground. I really like doggies, but the owners who walk in this parkland, where kids play for godssakes, ought to have their noses rubbed in the dogshit lying around.  I am not often ‘disgusted’ but today I am.

SO anyway on to my walk and firstly came to the ever changing graffiti wall that sections off the metro track.

Forgive me for not being young and hip, and I do get that Linzi waz there, but what the other words are is beyond me.I make the first one out to be SKUG and the 2nd OZAY. According to the urban dictionary, Skug is Any ugly, nasty, skanky, or generaly unagreeable female. And Ozay is Completely and totally lame Really, lame beyond all reason. Often used incorrectly as just something mildly lame. Well if the cap fits. Is that the best they could do? Not Banksy is it.

Onwards then to the path through the woods.

The trees are bursting with white blossom buds, lovely to see spring coming.

This is the world we live in, with people who are selfish and careless and have no respect for this planet or other people on it.

Apart from all that (rant over 🙂 ) I took some other pictures:-

I couldn’t get in to Wardley Colliery as they’ve mended the fence but somehow a Warburtons lorry container and 2 horses have managed to get in!

At the end of the path I decided to walk home by the road and came across Woodbine House, 1833 which in old times was a post office, then a British Legion club.

Weekend Doon Sooth

Have been down south, first visiting my pal Helen in Biggleswade. I love Helens home, it is full of dogs & chickens and quirky items so I took some photos indoors and in the garden.

Also it was Halloween so a pumpkin was carved.

As the evening came Helen and I went out with our cameras to catch some autumnal colour and the sunset. I took some shots from the car window as we travelled.

Then we went back and had the lush dinner, and had a few wine’s and Tia Marias, then to bed and the next morning we went out to the tree nursery we spotted whilst out and about and took some more photos.

I left Helens on Saturday morning and travelled down to Leighton Buzzard to visit Ben & Lewis. Lewis wanted to go on a boat on Wirren Lake at Milton Keynes so off we went to the park and the lake.

We did quite well at peddling out into the lake, unfortunately the wind was quite strong, the rudder didn’t work too well and we couldn’t get the damn thing to turn round to head back in land. It got quite stressful trying to steer, and I got a BIG headache when I was peddling really hard (must get fitter!!!) so we ended up waving our arms in the hope of being rescued, and just drifted on the lake  in the hope we wouldn’t crash into the water skiers. Luckily (?) there were 2 young lasses in another peddle boat who were having the same problem, so they were yelling and waving their arms about, and the chap in charge came out in a speedboat to tow them first, and us second back to dry land. Lewis was well impressed with the speedboat ride, as was I!

Nice view on the lake though 🙂

Anyway, now I’m back home, and have a week off, got lots of things to get sorted, and hopefully if the weather isn’t wet, can get out and about for some more togging.

Laters gaters 😉
