My last shot of squares, ๐ it’s been fun, but now onwards into April and time to get the macro lens out, not sure where this will lead, but guess we’re about to find out!
and a monthly round up…
rocking a camera across the Universe
Down to the last 3 days of squares now, and am feeling a bit repetitive as I’ve used my mosaics a fair bit and also square food stuff, but that’s all I have left! Today was a toss up between a mirror I made in 2006 or some Jacob’s cream crackers, but it was a sunny afternoon so the mirror won because of the colours. Skye was determined to photo bomb my shoot, so after several attempts where she stuck her tail/head/paws in the way I gave up and chose this one.
And because the sky was a beautiful blue and my blossom tree is about to bloom, an added extra..
Happy Easter Wordypeeps, poor Phil is at work and its raining โ๏ธ so I’m rattling around the house doing chores, but managed my square shot during a rare burst of sunshine. ๐
and here’s a couple of shots I’ve done for Sunday challenges, last week was ‘Road’ and this week was ‘Eggs” ๐
Hope every one is having an eggstremely good weekend ๐
Had a lovely day out in the sunshine with my pal Sophie. We went to visit Path Head water mill at Blaydon, then on to Gibside. I found lots of squares in Gibside but as we went out this evening too have not had time to process the pictures, so just did this one for now. Might have to do a Fraggle Report tomorrow ๐
Out of all the square treats so far this month, tonight is my favourite. ๐ After Eight mint chocolate thins were one of my Mum’s favourites too. Invented by Brian Sollitt they came on the ย market in 1962 and were supposed to be after dinner chocolates. ย Mum didn’t have dinner parties, but she’d get a box now and then at a weekend and we’d sit at night in her double bed with music on and reading books and stuff ourselves on the little square yummies. It’s the little things….
A few years ago one of my hobbies was mosaics. ย This was one of my early attempts, it’s a bit rustic and bonkers colours, in fact a bit rubbishy really, but I was chuffed with it at the time and gave it to Shelley to hang on her bathroom wall. Since she got her own home I’ve commandeered the bathroom so I can fit all of my girl stuff in it and not have to share it with bloke stuff ๐ and the mirror is still there. ย It’s grown on me but I can’t say I blame her for leaving it behind! ๐ ๐
Every mosaic piece is either square or cut from a square glass tesserae, which is hard work and I wasn’t very good at getting the shapes I wanted!
I has a little helper to do my shot with today, as Shelley came for a visit with Cal & Liddy. It was lovely and sunny so we sat in my studio (which is really our conservatory) and I took some shots of Liddy as well as inveigling Cal into doing my shot with me.
That’s the daily shot and bless him Cal doesn’t even like chewy sweets so no reward, but we played lego instead.
I took some shots of Liddy too so am including a couple of my favourites.
That’s all folks
