Moonlighting

It was a lovely moon and sky last night and it reminded me of my old absolutely favourite TV programme back in the day. Between 1985 and 1989 the actress Cybil Shepherd and a newcomer by the name of Bruce Willis starred in “Moonlighting’. A partnership between two private detectives, Madelyn “Maddie” Hayes (Shepherd) and David Addison Jr. (Willis) running the Blue Moon detective agency.   The show made use of fast-paced, overlapping dialogue between the two leads, harkening back to classic screwball comedy films such as those of director Howard Hawkes. These innovative qualities resulted in its being nominated, for the first time in the 50-year history of the Directors Guild of America, for both Best Drama and Best Comedy in the same year (both in 1985 and 1986). The plots were sometimes silly, but the pairing of Shepherd and Willis was magical and I don’t think I missed any of the 66 episodes, cried when it finished.  The theme song was lovely too.

Day 131~366

I was home a bit earlier this evening, and the sky had some lovely golden tones, so I thought I’d do an evening shot instead of a silhouette in case my sunsets were boring!  As always at this time of day, I had my trusty tripod, and took bracketed shots which I processed in Aurora HDR (which is in my humble opinion THE best HDR software I’ve used.)

So this is the shot I went to get

which turned out quite well I think, but then I decided to focus on the gold, and do a close up for a change…

That’ll do I thought, packed up my things and started for home. As I looked back I saw that this had happened!!

So ran back and set up to take some more shots 🙂

and finally, my favourite happened and it was glorious!

apologies for so many sunsets, after tomorrow I’ll be back to shooting in the day so might get a bit of diversity!

Day 48~366 ~ Skye Fire

Not too bad a day at work, but rain rain rain, and dull grey skies, and no photographic opportunities. Had more work to do at home and then just as I picked up my camera I noticed an orange glow coming through the window and BOOF!

day48w

a bonkers sunset! Skye & I sat and watched it, or rather I tried to photograph it hanging out of the bedroom window whilst preventing Skye from escaping out of said window! Afterwards I took her picture and she’ll be my daily B&W as nothing else inspired me after that. I did turn the sunset B&W in Lightroom it looked too weird. 🙂

Here she is, little pesky paws.

89 possibly.

Wardley sunset to the rescue. Bit of a nothing shot really, just to capture the colour of Wardley sky tonight, amazing, and seriously NO saturation tweak here. I did add a soft focus filter and cropped an enormous lampost out.
I do hope some hardy landscape photographer was out on hill and dale and got a mountain and stuff in a shot with this all going on, but it was minus penguin outside so I did the ironing and took this out the bedroom window. Leaning against a radiator 🙂
