Day 216~366

Thought it might be a good idea to start studying colour theory as I’m doing a colour month, and try to make my pictures according to what I learn. The three traditional sets of complimentary colors, as derived from the Red-Yellow-Blue color model, are red and green, yellow and purple, and orange and blue. Complementary colors, when used together in color schemes, are especially dynamic and pleasing to the eye. So today I’m finding yellow and purple are indeed dynamic and pleasing to my eyes at least, and my beautiful orchid  seems to have got it sussed.

Day 209~366

Orchids are not the easiest of things to grow apparently, but for a couple of years I had 4 plants of varying colours on my front windowsill, that bloomed regularly and lasted for ages when they did, with the minimum of interference from me. A bit of water now and then, a bit of orchid food now and then, and they were a happy little bunch. Then Storm & Skye came, and Storm, well, she was ill though we did not know it when we got her, and part of her illness made her eat strange things, like LP covers,…

Day 3~366

I’m having a busy Sunday. Phil is at work til 9pm so I’ve been up and at’em. I was at the supermarket by 10am, finished off my expenses form, sorted work out for tomorrow, painted another backdrop for my photography, played with Skye and the laser light, and done my photo for the day. Just the Christmas decorations to take down now, and make some soup for my dinner. I’ll put my feet up and watch a movie after that I think!

Quality not quantity

I started my ‘picture a day for 365 days’ 114 days ago, not realising at the time how my working life would change so drastically. I’m working 6 days a week now, and a fair amount of home time is taken up with processing the work, or doing related study etc etc.  Bit by bit my 365 has degenerated into bulk uploads and camera phone shots late at night in desperation to keep it going,  but that’s not the way I wanted to do the 365 and I’m not enjoying it, so have decided to call a halt. Of course…
