Before & After

This is a little shot I took with my compact Nikon S1 near Derwent Water in the Lake District.  I was going to delete it as it doesn’t look much there, but decided to have a play in LR to see what could be done. I also took it into my Nik filters software and added some bits and bobs, and this is the result.

It would have been better to get the exposure right in camera, of course, but am quite glad I got the sky exposed correctly rather than the foreground, so I was able to pull out the hidden details. Am quite impressed with what the S1 can capture.

Over the hills and far away…

Have been over to Cumbria working a few times lately, a 2 & 1/2 hour drive, but on a sunny day the scenery is stunning and makes up for the tedious drive home again.   I got a new little Nikon Compact, the S1 and these pictures are taken with it.  Am working late a lot and my weekends have been busy too, but having a chilled one this weekend, so have time to blog and catch up with the ones I like to read.

Zoom

The reason I don’t nourish my blog so much these days is because of the long hours I work, and the zooming around I do all over the North of England.  The past 2 days have been spent in the North West, in the beautiful Lake District, where the autumnal colours are really vibrant and the Lake District is a sight for sore eyes, even if I am zooming past them at 70 MPH! I got chance today to stop and take a couple of pics, and appropriately using  my 28-300mm zoom lens to get a shot of the little church by the lake at both ends of the lens.
