Seaham ~ May 2018 ~ part 2

Part 1 HERE Let’s have a wander around the harbour and beach first. There was a boat removal going on while we were there     Everyone found it entertaining The beach was clean and not too packed,     Seaham’s Lighthouse was built in 1905 to mark the town’s north breakwater. The cylindrical metal tower is painted in an alternating black and white pattern and is 10 meters in height.  A green light is shown from the glazed lantern at the top of the tower, which gives a single flash every 10 seconds or in bad weather shows a…

After walking through the meadows we got to the coastal side of the reserve, and the mouth of the river Tees of course there were doggies   came across a washed up crab whilst looking for sea glass and we wandered up to the pier to take some shots of the sea which was a beautiful blue and green After, we walked back to the car, and went off to see the seals at the appropriately named Seal Sands, and they’ll be the next post so stay tooned!

Day 328 & 329~366

Yesterday was cold but at least wasn’t raining when I finished work, so as I was in South Shields seeing a client, I hopped over to Little Sandhaven beach and took some shots with the ball. Just as I was finishing up the beginnings of a rainbow appeared over the sea, and I took some non-ball shots full strength but couldn’t fit it all in my frame so got out the phone and did a quick video I didn’t post last night as the cat hasn’t been all that well, and needed a  lot of cuddle time. We are thinking…

Day 217~366

We had sunshine for a few hours today before the howling wind and rain fell upon us this evening, so this afternoon I sallied forth to the coast at South Shields, with the fuji, in search of colour. But I found horses too! and my shot of the day. Red, yellow and blue In traditional color theory (used in paint and pigments), primary colors are the 3 pigment colors that can not be mixed or formed by any combination of other colors. All other colors are derived from these 3 hues.

Day 188~366

We had blue skies and sunshine for a while this morning, only lasted a couple of hours but it was enough for me to get to the coast and hunt for some sea~glass and take some pictures. At last! The colour of the sky was reflected in the sea, it was a gorgeous blue today, I haven’t  tweaked that in photoshop! This is the Harbour, at Littlehaven Beach, I come here a few times, but this is the first time I’ve seen the tide so far out, and it left behind some treasures! These are all the treasures I brought…

Day 185~366

I went down to the coast today to do a shot for t he sunday challenge group, with the theme of ‘ephemeral’ and was also hoping for some sunshine for a shadow shot.  Fat chance. Cloudy all day 😦 I got my shots for the group, and added a sunny feel to them in Photoshop 🙂 so this evening a lot of farting about with ‘creative lighting’. Tried to get the cat to co-operate but she was a PIA and I gave up in favour of Sideshow Bob, who was less recalcitrant.

Day 55~366

From Sunderland yesterday to North Shields & Whitley Bay today. Another clear sunny sky, and first to North Shields where I had to drive past the south Air Vent for the Tyne Tunnel, I thought it looked quite cool in B&W at lunch time I parked by St Mary’s lighthouse and took a shot of the beach, got a ginormous sun flare, and I parked next to a building site later on and spotted this chap I like the air vent best so that’s my daily!

Day 54~366

I was working in Sunderland today, managed a couple of pictures. Firstly I stopped for lunch in a carpark and saw a Mum and her teenager on top of a car, Later in the afternoon I had to park up on the sea front at Seaham, while I waited for a client to get home from her bowling match, it was a bit wild and windy, so just took a couple of shots. The beach and the safety belt, Think I like that one most, so that is for the daily shot!

Day 39~366

Managed a 15 minute lunch break by the sea at South Shields today, and had my camera with me so took a few shots and liked this one best. I processed this one myself using the B&W sliders in LR, and played with them until I liked how it looked. When I got home, Mr.Pie was sitting on our garden fence, so I took a shot of him too 🙂
