95~365

I spend a lot of time in my car, do on average 130 miles a day around the North East, in my battered old Rav 4. ¬†It doesn’t look much but it is AWESOME! When Phil was snowed in a couple of years ago and couldn’t get his hairdresser car out of the estate ( ūüôā ) I took him to work and back every day, over the snow and ice, up the kerbs and around the stranded BMW’s. ¬†We’ve not had many mechanical problems, and it passed it’s 10 year MOT without any work needed, as it had…

HARIBO ARMY. ¬† ¬† ¬†1st Gummy Bear Regiment. ¬†¬†Night¬†manoeuvres . .Sometimes doing a 365 gets you a little crazy. ¬† At 10pm I was stressing as I hadn’t got a photo today. ¬†At times like these I get the macro lens on the camera and go searching cupboards and shelves, nooks and crannies to find something. ANYTHING!!! Tonight I found a box of Haribo …….. ūüôā

Today was a bit of driving here there and everywhere, saw a few clients and ended up in Blyth. ¬†Somehow, whilst the rest of England seems to be snowed under, the North East has escaped. But it has been icy cold with a biting wind, with grey miserable looking skies that don’t inspire photography, haven’t even bothered to pack the Nikon into the car lately. ¬†However in Blyth I spotted this wind turbine poking up in what seemed like the middle of a built up area, and took a shot with my phone. not very impressive so I tarted it…

75/365 nemesis

This has been my enemy for the past week. Actually for the past year. ¬†I am going to rant now, look away if you’re a BT employee. ¬†Last year, a very nice scottish gentleman rang us up and promised us the earth with internet speed and goodness, if we would swap to BT. At the time we were with Virgin, and whilst it wasn’t maybe brilliant, we got on the net, did what we needed to and bob’s your uncle. ¬†But, ooh we thought, lightning fast speed and for less money. Sucked in and spat out were we. Ever…

So, no subject,~ leading lines leading nowhere, ~I just about managed the rules of 1/3 for the ¬†horizon. ¬†But this is how my day at work panned out photographically speaking, miles and miles around County Durham, ever changing skies, snow blizzards one minute, blue skies and sunshine the next, and sometimes both simultaneously. ¬†I was really pushed for time, so I only took this one shot, and prayed for decent focus and comp. Hand on heart -the horizon was wonky and I had to straighten it and I used color fx pro to bring out the detail in the…

68/365 ~gold

sometimes, when the weather is permanently shite, it stretches me so much to find a shot for my 365, hence lego figures, The Simpsons and the carpet. Today I completely got stuck, so reverted to my emergency plan – go to wikipaedia and look up todays date for inspiration. On March 9, 1842, Francisco Lopez, the uncle of Antonio’s second wife Jacoba Feliz, took a rest under an oak tree in Placerita Canyon and had a dream that he was floating on a pool of gold. When he awoke, he pulled a few wild onions from the ground…
