Well today The Donald has become the 45th President of the USA, we certainly live in interesting times. I am going to ‘borrow’ a poem from my pal FD’s blog which suits how I feel today. In the dark of the moon, in flying snow, in the dead of winter, war spreading, families dying, the world in danger, I walk the rocky hillside, sowing clover. (Wendell Berry) The world turns in mysterious ways sometimes.
“The modest Rose puts forth a thorn, The humble sheep a threat’ning horn: While the Lily white shall in love delight, Nor a thorn nor a threat stain her beauty bright.” Wordsworth
“And far and wide, in a scarlet tide, The poppy’s bonfire spread”. Poems of the Orient–The Poet in the East ~ Bayard Taylor I found a beautiful field of poppies today, and then I found a most beautiful poem that reminded me of my friend Francis.
