“In truth a family is what you make it. It is made strong, not by number of heads counted at the dinner table, but by the rituals you help family members create, by the memories you share, by the commitment of time, caring, and love you show to one another, and by the hopes for the future you have as individuals and as a unit.”– Marge Kennedy

  1. Love the two sisters and the sheer joy on the faces of the new parents amongst the daffodils is wonderful. As the mother of a son I hope I’ve raised him to respect women, stand up for others and be kind. I’ve certainly tried.

  3. Such heartwarming photos! Stunning shots that make me smile.
I loved the quote about grandmothers becoming wise and prehistoric (LOL!), and the one about love turning fathers into heroes, story-tellers, etc. So true!

  4. Beautiful post! Nothing like the love & bond of family ties… one strong enough to drop everything last minute, fly across the country, and drive them back home. 😊 it’s good when you have that…
some of your photos felt like time travel (is that editing?)

  5. I do like your family photography.
I don’t have any from my childhood and have kinda stuffed those from my first wife in some forgotten corner. However, I have a treasure trove of photo memories from my life with Linda. When I look through all you photos I can see those memories you have. Well done.

    1. Thanks Enman, I had noticed Linda’s absence from your posts, but didn’t like to pry. So cool that you have the photo memories. I am reminded of the quote by Aaron Siskin, “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.” It’s why I do photography 😊 I have a bad memory!
