Stockton on Tees ~ July 2018~ The Butterfly House

A little break from history and people. Stockton -on- Tees, not a name to conjure up images of steamy jungles or cocktails on the river boat. But Sophie and I know Stockton has an amazing huge glass building full of exotic blooms, plants and butterflies we just don’t see over here in the outside world. The chap who started it collected them from all over the world, and now they just perpetuate in Stockton, their ancestry is diverse, but these are many generations on so have British passports. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

No funny captions, just some pretties to look at, so have a cuppa tea, (wine/whisky/etc) de-stress (Pete, Gary πŸ˜€ )and join me in tropical Stockton.

  1. Gorgeous pictures! How would I love (some) tropical warmth jist now, with a fierce Northener blowing and temps of 40 Fahrenheit.

    1. Same here, well I don’t know what 40 Fahrenheit is haha, but it’s 8 celsius here with wind and rain so presume just as awful, so if you get some of that tropical warmth, send it over πŸ™‚

      1. 40 F is not very warm. half of 80, which is 27 C. So, about 13 C. Close to the temperature in Norfolk today. You can’t have forgotten already! πŸ™‚
Sorry, I forgot you are too young for bushels, pecks, furlongs, real temperatures, and old money!
Lovely butterflies, nice (treated?) shots that look lush.
I had the wine, (Spanish, Sangre De Torros) so it worked well, and I am in a mellow mood. Ready for bed, and it’s not even 10!
        Well done indeed, FR. πŸ™‚
        Best wishes, Pete.

        1. I am defiantly ( which should have been definitely but defiantly works better for me 🀣🀣) too young for bucks and peshles et al, but still can count in real (old) money. I always ‘treat’ my shots as I shoot in RAW format, it’s kinda like developing film in the olden days only without the mess. Glad you are mellowed out and I’ll say chin chin raise your Sangre de Torros with a White Grenache!

  6. I feel so lovely that I’ve bookmarked the page in case I need to feel lovely again in the future. The pink butterfly is probably one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.

  7. Images from a different corner of the world, for sure. So colourful and vibrant. Quite something to seek during the drap season we are heading into now (for me before the snow sets in and makes everything more fun).
