The main event as far as Phil was concerned was the German armour and uniforms, and he was very impressed with the authenticity of both. The re-enactors covered the German, British,American WW2 and included some French resistance people too.Β Lots of renovated vehicles were also on show, and at the end of the day they had a full on battle which was fun to watch.

Previously mostly used for rail, industrial or agricultural hopper cars, the Kubelwagon was a light military vehicle designed by Ferdinand Porsche and built by Volkswagen during World War II for use by the German military (both Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS).

I have no idea what this next thing really is, (but had a guess)

The Resistance were here too

they were cooking lunch….

More evidence of the USA contingent
and we found some!

I think that’ll do for today, but stay tooned for more WW2 next time.
Hi Fraggle! This post is even more fun than the last one! You must have had a terrific time. I got a kick out of “steam punk flux capacitor”. I’m no expert, but I think it’s a sundial compass or an astrolabe… I like flux capacitor better though. π

It looks like a sextant to me, but I am no sailor, nor an explorer!
Great shots, though some of those ‘soldiers’ have been eating too many rations. π
Best wishes, Pete.

As usual…the pictures are amazing. And it’s so cool to see how much these people are enjoying themselves. Love the details they put in these costumes…simply astounding π

Awesome post, Fraggle. How bizarre the addiction of WWII is to the minds of today! Surviving an event so awful–what a tattoo on the hearts and mind.

Thanks Cindy. I’m currently travelling through Europe doing lots of WWII museums and the odd Roman one, and I think it’s not so much of an addiction as part of European psyche.

Yeah, addiction was a strong word. I should have said fascinated.

Of course some are obsessed though, I’m married to one, hence being in Europe doing the museums et al!

This is very wonderful information I appreciate it greatly! How does it like to wear theΒ uniforms of the German Army of World War oneΒ 1914-1918 and the WW1 Militaria or the memorabilia? The color of the imperial German army uniforms during World War 1 was in field-grey.Β More info please visit here! http://bit.ly/2BGNq1n
