The Swiss Gardens ~ July 2017 ~ part 4

Part 1.    Part 2.   Part 3.

The Swiss Gardens are also home to 3 peacocks, I couldn’t help taking more shots than necessary, but they are such beauties

he’s in here somewhere

they were moulting, so I got a couple of feathers Helen found on the ground.

We had a wander around the woodlands surrounding the lake, and came across some wood carvings

the little house was about knee height

Next time we’ll be back in the main grounds seeing more little buildings and follies, so stay tooned!

  1. Beautiful photos. I love peacocks they are so beautiful and sassy, and their calls sound like banshees in the night. The carvings are great. Artists tend to make bears out of old trees around here, but there is a framing gallery in our village that carved a dead tree into a paintbrush, pencil and pen.

      1. This time of year if you’re out walking in the woods chances are you will have a bear behind (inspired by an old Benny Hill skit). The forest service closed several trails in picnic areas in the Sandias because of bears, and a bear came down into the city a couple of weeks ago, which caused schools to be locked down, and it gave animal control a real runaround before they captured it. The bear also gave the news something to talk about beside crime, murder and our idiot politicians.
