Mount Grace Priory~part 5

After we visited the house and the priory we explored the estate which has a beautiful garden and also area with a lake and wildflowers.

you can maybe tell I quite liked the Japanese maples!

Further out from the beautifully kept gardens, is a kind of wilderness area where we saw geese and duck families..

It was at this point I knew I had to purchase a longer zoom lens!! These shots are all taken with the 18-55mm kit lens. You can see the babies better if you click on the pictures.

Next time will be the last trip to MGP, and we’ll be having a look at the flowers and see what the macro lens can do.

    1. yes I got the 50-230 and though I have a black XT I chose the silver one as the black one is £20 (28€) dearer 🙂 Haven’t had chance to use it much yet, just test shots, quality is fab. Wish I’d had it for when I went to Farne Islands though.

          1. I think the only chance is to force a long exposure with a big stopper filter and hope that the strike comes in the next 5-30 seconds. But that’s theory. I was never successful to capture one. But may be tonight. We will see.

    Fraggy! Glad ya got yourself s new lens. I love my 18-270 .
    I also love Japanese maples , those are gorgeous !!!
    How many days were you at the place?
