Which it is here at the moment, and quite sunny, but cold now autumn is passing and winter is looming. I’ve had a week off work which is great, but also not so great as it’s the last day and am back to work tomorrow. 😦 I do like not being at work, a lot. The weather has not been so kind though and I have not got out much which is a shame as I’d fancied a few walks with my camera, but I did read a lot, I finished the series of Jack Reacher novels, and am into book 4 of C.J.Sansome’s Shardlake series, set in Henry the 8th days and as we are currently watching the HBO series The Tudors ties in nicely with that.
My visit with Helen last week inspired a trip to ASDA where I purchased a slow cooker, and last Monday cooked pulled chicken which was lush, forgot to take pics of the end result but here it is in action!

Helen also gave me a cutting from her bamboo plant, and I spent yesterday potting it and also moved all my herb pots indoors to protect them from frost.

Have also been doing stuff around the house, sorted out my spice shelf which was in a bit of disarray!

Phil is quite shocked at my domestication! Not sure how long it will last.:D
On Wednesday night we had a spectacular sunset over Wardley, so I hung out of bedroom windows to get some photos of it, it was glorious.

Friday I had a meeting with Rory from our head office to get some new equipment for work, and to learn some new test procedures, it was a long day and my head was at exploding point by the end of it, but worth giving my day up to get the training.
On Friday night Phil and I always have ‘music night’ where we play loads of discs, get quite merry, and sometimes I get a live performance!

So today it’s sunny as I said, and I would love to go out with the Nikon, but I have to learn all the stuff I did on Friday, ready for tomorrow. Practice makes perfect and all that. But I took a couple of pics in the garden for my fix.

Laters Gaters 🙂
OOOOhhhh! Love the shots of Phil playing guitar!
It’s always tough going back to work after a bit of time off, especially when you didn’t get to do everything you wanted to do.
I do love to read though when the weather outside isn’t cooperative and it sounds like you made the best of your time.
You worked on Friday and then studied on Sunday…. you deserve more time off!
A beautiful sunset and now I want to cook something slow.
Hope you have a good week. Thanks for sharing your time off! I always look forward to the Frag Report. 🙂 Keep shooting!

Hmm… you reminded me to use my crock pot again! I love it and sort of forgot about it over the summer. Nice sunset you captured.

Great collection of shots. Love the sunsets and the moody guitar shot. Nice spider web too.

thanks Steve, my pet spider is quite prolific at this time of year.

Fraggs, I’m liking, most, the darker picture of hubs with the bass. But the web and the sunset with the reflection off the facia is also satisfying. It seems to me that you’ve been quite glued to your camera, and for this I envy you! Um, oh, and the new formatting is great. I like the brighter feel.
I hope you’ve been well.

Hiya Dink, nice to hear from you, I’ve been fine thanks, hope you are too 🙂 I liked that little reflection in the facia too. I still don’t feel I get chance to take enough photo’s (you know me, quantity over quality any time haha) but I do take some cameras everywhere I go, living in hope. Are you getting chance to take some stuff?

I’m shooting a little here and there. Not as dedicated as I would like. And nothing that really inspires.
I have some pretty good shooting opportunities in the works. Hope they come to be, but I’ll soon know.
In the mean time, my camera is almost always with me, but again, I’m uninspired.

I’ve had that ‘uninspiration thing’ quite often, but some really cool tog told me it doesn’t matter, keep shooting stuff even if you never show it, that’s the way to get better and then inspiration just joins in. So I make myself take shots and always keep thinking about what I’m seeing, sometimes it works, mostly not!! 🙂
