Finally got a nice blue sky day at the weekend, and Sophie and I got out with our camera’s. We went to Woodhorn Museum, which was a more amazing place than we expected. It’s a disused colliery that now houses archives of Northumberland, and tells the story of the mining community depicting the lives of coal mine workers and features original buildings and equipment from the former colliery. Took a few most of the shots are in my ‘gallery’ section but here’s a couple for the blog.
Some of the buildings and the wheelhouses.
The beautiful roof of the museum area, great architecture.
First red squirrel I’ve seen in years! Over the railway tracks at the museum.
